NEED I KNOW HOW TO SAIL?

It is not necessary to know how to sail, you can and are allowed to sail or navigate the boat. The skipper and hostess will assist where necessary.

SHOULD I BE ABLE TO SWIM?

You will not need to know how to swim to go sailing. However this is necessary if you would like to participate in water sports such as snorkelling, water-skiing, etc…

WHAT SHOULD I BRING ALONG?

  • Preferably a travel bag instead of a suitcase. This is better for storage.
  • Maximum one piece of luggage per person.
  • Flat shoes, soft soled shoes (no leather, no black soles).
  • Toiletries
  • Protection for the sun i.e. sun tan lotion (no sun tan oil).
  • Sunglasses
  • Swimming gear
  • Flip flops
  • Casual clothing, walking clothes, evening clothing
  • Hat
  • Your favourite cd, dvd, a book.

WHAT CAN I LEAVE BEHIND?

  • Hair dryer

IS SMOKING ON BOARD ALLOWED?

Due to safety precautions, smoking is not allowed in the cabins but is allowed on the deck.

HOW CAN I COMPARE SIZE AND COMFORT OF THE CATAMARAN?

The catamaran has a surface of 130 square metres which would be comparable to the size of a luxury apartment.

IS THE YACHT AIR-CONDITIONED

Most yachts have air-conditioning. Should this not be the case, we will inform you. Please note that in some ports it is not permitted to keep the generators running during the night. Therefore, it may happen that you have no air conditioning during the night.

CAN I CHANGE THE SAILING ROUTE DURING THE HOLIDAY?

Yes, after agreement with the skipper, you can change your route to your own preference.

CAN I COMBINE THE SAILING CRUISE WITH A STAY IN A HOTEL ON SHORE?

Yes, Sealux will gladly help you make all necessary arrangements in organising your complete holiday.

WILL THERE BE OTHER PARTIES ON BOARD?

Yes, if you book per cabin (i.e. 2 persons). This is not the case if you take the option of hiring the entire yacht.

DO I ALWAYS NEED TO WEAR A LIFE JACKET?

No, only in certain circumstances if the skipper tells you. We do advise that children up to the age of 12 wear life jackets during sailing.

CAN I BECOME SEASICK?

Yes, it is possible to get seasick. However, a catamaran is very stable and it is very rare one feels ill. In case of doubt, a travel medicine would be the best solution. The captain will in such case amend the sailing route to a calmer place.

WHERE IS SEALUX’S HOMEBASE?

Sealux has chosen Corfu in Greece for technical maintenance. Kos is situated close to the Turkish Riviera and is one of the most beautiful places to cruise.

WHAT IS A RIB TENDER?

A rib tender is a small boat (zodiac) which will provide transport between the yacht and the shore. It is also used for watersport activities.

CAN I USE THE RIB TENDER ON MY OWN?

Yes, only if you are in possession of a valid licence but doing so will be at your own risk.

DO I TIP THE CREW?

To express your appreciation for the quality of the services provided by the crew you can hand over your tip (usually between 7 and 15 percent of the fare) to the captain. He/she will then divide this over the crew members, depending on their position and input. You may also choose to tip each crew member separately.
